Mabel and Chicago!!

This week has been pretty eventful for both of our families.
To start out, on Tuesday March 25, Nate's sister Heidi had their baby! Mabel Brown was 7 pounds 2 ounces and 20 inches long. We went up to the hospital after work so we could see her - she sure is cute!! Russ had brought up Kate and Abby, so it was fun to see them with their new cousin too.

That night, my parents, sister, and nephews came into town from Oregon. We got to meet our new nephew Davis, and decided he's pretty cute :) Wednesday night my grandparents, cousin & her family, and the Bairds (who are practically family too) came over for dinner. It was great to have a house big enough for everyone to eat and hang out in! [actually, I wasn't there for the "everyone" part - I had to work late and missed a lot of the party]

Yesterday my youngest sister Camille got her mission call. She is going to the Illinois Chicago North Mission! It was great that it came when my whole family (minus brother-in-law Shane, who had to stay in Portland to work) could be there when she opened it. She goes into the MTC May 21. I don't think it has quite hit me yet that she's really leaving - I'm sure it will over the next couple of months, but I'm really going to miss her!!

I'm looking forward to a fun weekend with my family before they leave Sunday morning, and hopefully we'll be able to see Mabel again soon!

Kallie is Here!

Most of you reading this saw the title and thought "yeah, we know, that's old news". It is. I just have gotten a little behind on my blogging, so this is my attempt to catch up.

Two weeks ago, Nate went fishing with his dad and brother Russ. I told him to write a post and put his pictures up, but since he didn't, I get to tell everyone that he didn't actually catch anything, although Russ did :)

The next day (Sunday March 2), we were supposed to have my siblings over for dinner to celebrate the twins' and Stacey's birthdays (belatedly). Fortunately (but unfortunately for our dinner plans) Stacey went into labor Saturday night and our cute little niece Kallie Morris was born at 3:37 a.m. After church, we all went to see her at the hospital, then the twins still came to our house for dinner, complete with cake with a D and C in M&M's, just like when they were little. I heard that at Camille's birthday party David blew out her candles before she had a chance to, so I figured we needed to go back to the days when they each had their own cake [although I don't have 2 round pans, so I just put both intials on one cake]. We even got to have family Sunday nap time in the living room after dinner with some of us on couches and some on the floor - just like at home :)

Other than that, we've mostly both been busy with work and trying to keep up with stuff around the house. There's a lot more cleaning to do when you more than triple the square footage of your living space! But we are definitely enjoying our house, and I'll try to get some pictures of the outside and the rest of the inside.
