Bennett the 6-year-old

Some of my favorite things about Bennett at 6: Bennett loves to read, draw, dance, and play sports. He’s a great big brother and friend to Ryan, and is generally easy-going. He has a hard time making decisions, and is quite concerned about things being fair (especially when it comes to getting as many snacks or treats as Ryan). He loves Eliza and is usually helpful if I need him to watch her. He loves learning and is always confident in himself. He still loves his Luxembourgish school and surprises me often with the Luxembourgish words he throws into his everyday conversation. We’re so grateful to have Bennett in our family!

Bennett’s 6th Birthday

We celebrated Bennett’s birthday on February 16. The kids had the whole week off of school for Carnival, so I gave him a few options of what to do on his birthday, and he wanted to go swimming. We found a fun indoor pool close by, and despite the challenges of taking all 3 kids swimming by myself (they were actually great, just hard to get them all changed etc.) we had a great time and the boys loved swimming.

That night, the Oates came over for pizza and cake and ice cream. The lego cake of course didn’t turn out as amazing as the one I was attempting to copy on pinterest, but Bennett didn’t know the difference and was happy with the creation. We had a great time celebrating, and he loved opening his gifts.
