9 Months

My brother left a comment on my last blog post with a link to a blog post of my sister’s (see it here), where she posted 3 rules for blogging:

Rule #1:  If you have a kid and you make a blog post, pictures* must be included.

Rule #2:  Words should take up less space than the pictures*

Rule #3:  Make a blog post at least every 2 weeks.

*Pictures can be replaced with video.  If the video is longer than the time it takes the average 6th grader to read the text then it will fulfill rule 2.

I’m definitely in violation of rules 2 and 3, so I need to redeem myself.

Bennett is now 9 months old, and at his check-up weighed 15 lbs 15 oz (1.04 percentile) and was 29.25 inches long (80th percentile). His head is around the 12th percentile. Since then, we’ve been trying to beef him up a little bit by feeding him more and giving him meat and other calorie-rich foods. Over Thanksgiving, his relatives helped out by introducing him to all sorts of new foods, including strawberry jam and Dum-Dums :) We go back in a month to see if it’s helping.

New tricks include standing fairly steadily while holding onto the couch or coffee table, pulling himself up to things (we finally lowered the crib last week), scooting faster and faster (no up-on-the-knees crawling yet though), feeding himself puffs (although he drops about 1/2 of them on the way to his mouth), and as of yesterday, giving kisses and acquiring tooth #5 (felt it poking through last night).
