We had a little birthday party on Saturday for Bennett’s birthday. We reserved our community’s clubhouse and had Nate’s family and my brother and sister come celebrate with us.
We had homemade pizzas and salad for lunch (Bennett just got a couple breadsticks)
played with punch balloons and chairs (who knew chairs were so entertaining?)
had a nerf gun war (the goal was to knock down the other team’s cup pyramid – no cups could be left standing)
opened presents
and ate cake and ice cream
We made Bennett his own cake and let him have at it, but he got a little frosting on his hands and arm and decided he didn’t want to eat any. He was not at all interested – probably partly because it was past naptime, but it was a little disappointing – we were hoping for cake and frosting all over his face.
Other than the cake disappointment, it was a fun party – thanks for coming everyone!!

I guess he figured you can't have your cake and eat it too, so he decided to just have it.

1 that's crazy! what a fun party...my boys would have loved the nerf gun war and the extra cake!
looks like fun! i wish we could have been there
Darling! I especially love the m&m idea for decorating the cakes. What a brilliant idea!
That looks fun! What a great way to celebrate. I cannot believe he is already 1. Amazing! I was hoping for some cake and frosting in the face pictures as well. :) Cute cake decorating, by the way.
I haven't planned anything for Grace's birthday. I better get cracking . . .
