We received a warm welcome to Seattle – from the roommate who was living in the apartment the corporate housing company assigned us. He was probably more surprised than we were when we walked into his apartment, seeing how he was in the shower and just heard someone downstairs yelling “hello?” Apparently, somewhere along the line it got lost in translation that Nate was bringing his family (Nate definitely gave them the info) so they assigned him a roommate. Nate made some phone calls and they told us we could stay in another place for the night until someone could figure out where to put us. After a long day of traveling, we got the kids settled in bed, then Nate picked up some pizza for our 10pm dinner. Not a great start, but at least we were able to get a hold of someone to find us a place to stay.
The next day, we found out we would be staying in this apartment for about 2 weeks then moving to a “permanent” place for the rest of the summer. That night, we found out that one of my friends from the MBA program is in the same building where we’re staying temporarily – we were sad that we would be moving, but we’ve had fun hanging out the past couple of weeks. On Wednesday, we walked up to Kerry Park where the kids had fun on the playground, and we walked up to get a great view of downtown Seattle. It’s quite a hike up the hill, but it was fun.
Bennett liked sitting in the little spinning chair…until I spun him slowly, stopped paying attention, and all of a sudden he was spinning really fast.
going down the slide with his friend Lola
Ryan fell asleep on the walk home – this seems to be a trend since we got here :)
The View - definitely work the trek up the hill!
