We took advantage of the extra-low tides that surround the summer solstice to check out the tide pools at one of the Seattle beaches. There are certain days and times when Beach Naturalists from the Seattle Aquarium are at some of the Seattle beaches to educate people about the sea creatures in the tide pools. I was surprised at how much we saw – lots of crabs (some dead, some alive – see the video below), big starfish (some orange and some purple ones), orange sea cucumbers, lots of snails, some clams, and a few hermit crabs. It was fun to explore and learn about the things we saw. The railroad tracks go right by the beach, and as we were walking down from our car, a train went by carrying 6 planes. They looked like they were new, almost-finished planes, so we figured they were on their way from one Boeing plant to another.
