We had so much fun celebrating Eliza’s 2nd birthday. Before it came, she didn’t seem too excited and didn’t talk about it much, but on and after, she kept saying “my birt-day”. That morning, we went and had Yudri cut our hair (mine was a cut, but Eliza just had her bangs trimmed). We met up with Tasha and Ingrid at the library, then walked back to their house for a few minutes before the boys got home from school. After naptime, we met up with our friends at the Castle Park and played for a while. I asked Eliza what she wanted for dinner (I gave her several options of things I knew she liked) and she chose waffles, so we had waffles and smoothies. Since we didn’t have a cake that night, we put a couple candles on her waffle for her to blow out, then she opened a few presents from us and from grandparents.
On Friday night, the Oates and Mullins came over for cake and ice cream, and Eliza loved the attention. She blew out the candles on her butterfly cake, with a little help from her brothers, and had fun playing with her friends.
We sure love our little two-year-old. She is becoming a little chatterbox and seems to understand and be able to communicate pretty well. She walks around singing lot of the day – she almost never sings real songs but lots of made-up words, and lots of made-up tunes to real words (for example, she asked me to hold something the other day, then started singing “hold it, hold it, hold it” over and over to her own little tune). She loves her brothers (Mannett and Yaya), and is fairly social, always asking to go to Ingrid’s house or Vivi’s house, or asking to call a grandma or one of her aunts or cousins. She loves to play kitchen, cars, trains, and with her baby. We’re grateful to have her in our family!

She is such a cute girl. I think I made you a butterfly cake when you were little. It was a wonderful cake.
