The day after Christmas, we were feeling a little restless after being inside for most of 2 days straight, so we went to see the “Bock Casements” in Luxembourg – it’s an area that was part of the old fortress (most of which has been destroyed) where tunnels and stairways were built into the face of the rock / promontory. The casemates were closed so we couldn’t actually go inside the tunnels, but we had fun exploring the area anyway (and getting out of the house!). After exploring the city, we tried out a new park that was just finished a couple of weeks earlier: the airplane park. It was amazing! Such creative designs and the kids loved it. We will definitely be going back.
On the 27th, we woke up to 4-5 inches of snow. The boys were so excited! Ryan had been saying for months “When it’s Christmas, I want to make a snow angel”. I thought the odds of it happening were pretty slim, but his wish was granted. Bennett and Ryan went out and played while Nate shoveled. They made snow angels, snowmen, and had a snowball fight. Eliza didn’t have any warm clothes so we stayed inside, but I couldn’t pull her away from the window – she wanted to watch her brothers the whole time!
And finally, pictures of the kids with their Christmas gifts. I of course forgot several of Eliza’s presents in the picture (just for the record: play iphone, a shape sorter wooden house, her PJs, and her little French colors book). The little kitchen was for all the kids, although Bennett probably won’t really play with it. Ryan has loved kitchens forever and since Eliza is old enough to play with it too, Santa thought it would be fun for them to have one.
