The day of Spencer and Kristin’s wedding was a beautiful day. We went to the sealing in the afternoon, and came out to pouring rain. We hid in the covered areas for a bit waiting for Spencer and Kristin to come out. By the time they came out, the rain had stopped, so we were able to take pictures around the temple and tried (unsuccessfully) to keep the little boys from jumping in the puddles. The reception that night was in Nate’s Parents’ backyard, so we had been hoping and praying that the rain would hold off, and other than a few tiny sprinkles, it was a beautiful night! We went back to their house after the temple for a casual dinner, then enjoyed the chance to catch up with family and friends at the reception. Ryan fell asleep on the drive back from the temple, and despite our efforts to keep him awake, the jet lag caught up to him and he didn’t ever fully wake up (other than to eat a bag of chips and fall back asleep on Nate’s lap). Bennett spent most of the evening playing basketball with his cousins and second cousins, and Eliza had a great time wandering around the yard and trying to steal treats off the dessert table. We are so happy for Spencer and Kristin, and were so grateful we were able to be there!
below: the nieces & nephews picture. Eliza was the star of the show.
The backyard looked gorgeous, especially once it got dark and the white lights were on!
