Nate’s sister came to visit last weekend, and we enjoyed showing her around our temporary home. Bennett latched onto her right away - “no, I want Anna to buckle me in my car seat”, “I want Anna to put my pajamas on”, etc. Some of the highlights of her trip (part 1, one more post to come):
Friday – Pike’s Place and the Bainbridge Island Ferry
When we were trying to find an elevator (instead of stairs) that would take us down to the waterfront, we happened upon the gum wall that’s below Pike’s Place. Yuck.
We never figured out why, but this fire boat was out on the water. Bennett liked pointing out the “sprinklers”
After riding the ferry back from Bainbridge Island, we walked along the waterfront to find some fish and chips. It was opening day for this fun new Ferris wheel – we may just have to add it to our Seattle to-do list.
Saturday – Fremont Troll, Gas Works Park, Seattle Center, Space Needle, Kerry Park (busy day!)
We took Anna to Gas Works Park (overlooking Lake Union) for a picnic lunch. We happened to be there when the pontoon planes were taking off and landing. We probably saw 5-6 take off and 5-6 more land. It was pretty cool to watch them take off & land on the water (and fly right over our heads)
And finally, a few shots courtesy of Bennett:
